Part 3 of the Tools for Coordinated Project Review, “Port Authority Processes and Guidelines,” provides applicants with direction related to the guidelines and other resource materials that are available through their port authority.
As partners in the BIEAP-FREMP Coordinated Review Process, the port authorities use the Tools for Coordinated Project Review as one way of making their plans and guidelines available to tenants, developers, consultants, regulatory agencies and the general public. Each port authority also has this information available through its website or its property development or environmental services departments.
As managers or “landlords” of the harbours, port authorities are often responsible authorities for environmental assessment and project approval. For most projects, port authorities will become the lead agency for Coordinated Project Review. Therefore, it is important that proponents maintain a dialogue with their port authority.
Part 3 of the Tools for Coordinated Project Review is presented in 3 separate sections:
Section 3.1 Tools for Coordinated Project Review through the Vancouver Port Authority.
Section 3.2 Tools for Coordinated Project Review through the Fraser River Port Authority.
Section 3.3 Tools for Coordinated Project Review through the North Fraser Port Authority.
The port authorities oversee distinct geographic jurisdictions. The jurisdiction of each is outlined in the BIEAP-FREMP brochure for Coordinated Project Review. Please refer to the map in the brochure to determine which port authority manages the area in which your proposed project is located.
